Korg Interview
Korg Interview - Mark Alexander On the road with Meat Loaf
by Laura Whitmore
Currently on tour
with Meat Loaf, Mark Alexander is no stranger to the road. His past
touring and recording credits include stints with Enrique Iglesias, Joe
Cocker, the E Street Band, Curtis Stigers and more. His work has also
appeared in televisions commercials and feature films, including The Bodyguard and Home Alone II.
We
tracked this busy man down to ask him about his experiences with Korg
and he had plenty to say. “I’ve always had Korg stuff in my arsenal
since the Poly 6 (now I’m really dating myself),” he laughed. “I’m
using the 88 key TRITON STUDIO with Meat Loaf, and I used it with
Enrique Iglesias, too.”
Mark went on to talk about how he chooses an instrument.
“I like my keyboards clean, ergonomically designed, powerful,
user-friendly and to have massive sound possibilities. The TRITON
STUDIO does,” he told us. “I love the feel of the weighted action keys.
Meat Loaf’s music is centered around the piano so the new piano samples
are very important. The fact that I can call up a preset and have
everything I need under my fingertips is great. Samples, loops, great
synths and organs, all on one keyboard. I’ve virtually eliminated the
need to have all my other keyboards and racks full gear on tour. My
tech is very happy, and a little bored.”
